This stark reality was aggravated by COVID-19 lockdowns. Increased stay-at-home measures have led to the rise of unemployment and household conflicts, and a staggering 15 million women were estimated to be abused for every three months lockdowns ensued.

BRAVAs are a 500-strong collection of female CyberPunk Amazonas created to spark a renewed sense of urgency and advocacy towards the pressing cause of gender-based violence. The first wave of the BRAVA collection (320 BRAVAs) came alive (revealed) on 25 Nov, the day recognised by the United Nations as the 'International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women'. In May 2022, the 2nd wave of BRAVAs (180 BRAVAs) came alive on the Mixin Network. We have plans to reveal future waves of BRAVAs.

WHY ARE BRAVA TRAITS IMPORTANT?

Each BRAVA carries a battle scar - Cyborg eyes, robot arms, bandage or band aids. They serve as important reminder to the challenges she has faced and how she's emerged stronger as a female superhero.

WHY ONLY 500 BRAVAs?

The simple answer is that we want to be a ‘Value’ Project, rather than a ‘Volume’ Project. Since the inception of the project, we’ve been very careful who is part of the BRAVA community; we didn’t want it to be just a numbers game.

When we created allowlists for OG holders who joined our Discord, we made sure everyone filled up a Google Form where they had to answer why & how they will be supporting the project.

From there, we did our due diligence to make sure only legit BRAVA supporters were WL-ed. No bots, no 'flipper whales'.

As a team that stands against abuse, we are taking a firm stand - we are not going to let the BRAVA collection be abused - whether it is by paperhands, flippers or people who are not serious about the cause we are supporting.

One of the ways to ensure that the BRAVAs end up in the right hands, is by keeping the community tight and close-knit. This allows us to ensure that each BRAVA is packed with more punch, thus also increasing exclusivity for the project, which will in turn be better for the BRAVA holders.

Envisioned at least 3 years ago, the BRAVA character was created by our creator and artist, Nahual, as an icon to stand up to women-focused issues. Incubated for years, BRAVA is a long term project with unique art work, real-world integration, and of course with a focus on a strong cause.
